Bear Mountain and Gravel Trails

Today we trekked to New Hampton, NY which is just a couple of miles outside of Middletown. Our day started with rain and ended with rain, but it was okay because we succeeded in our goal. We rode along some really awesome bike paths in New York. Our issue was that he bike trail would randomly end. Thanks to modern technology and helpful firemen we were able to find our way. Eventually a group of us riders made it to the
top off this super scenic area!
We then descended the hill and rode over the Hudson River an awesome bridge.  Lunch was soon after. It was glorious! I spent some time spinning in circles outside trying to get my long sleeve shirt to dry, but this was highly ineffective. I went inside the historic Fort Montgomery building and got a picture with some creepy soldier statues.
Soon enough we began our second leg of the journey which required riding up and down more large hills. Then after another bike trail, we got lost and ended up riding on a gravel/ sand/water trail. It was ridiculous, but I actually really enjoyed the adventure. After 85 miles a group if us made it back at 6:30! We were all wet, but there were tacos waiting for us which made pedaling in the pouring rain for eleven hours worth it!
I am stoked to sleep tonight!
